Male Tummy Tuck
Did you lose a lot of weight and are now afflicted with loose, hanging skin? Are you struggling to regain a flat stomach? Is your stomach protruding or do you have excess fat in your midsection, even with regular diet and exercise? An Abdominoplasty, male tummy tuck, can correct many of these problem areas, and dramatically improve your appearance and self-confidence.
REASONS for Male Tummy Tuck
As men age, areas of fat tend to accumulate around the abdomen. Weight gain and weight loss may affect the muscle tone and skin quality. Exercise and diet alone may not be enough to help you achieve the look you desire.
ABOUT Male Tummy Tuck
The essential components of a male tummy tuck are muscle layer tightening, excess skin removal and subsequent contouring of surrounding tissues. During your consultation, Dr. Tepper will examine you and discuss which of the three components are necessary to achieve your goal.
The extent of surgery and the degree of muscle tightening may influence whether patients remain in the hospital overnight or go home the same day. Drains may be used, and most of the sutures dissolve as they are beneath the skin. A binder is used immediately after surgery to help the tissue layers heal back together, and the binder is typically worn for 4-6 weeks.
Patients are encouraged to avoid any activities that strain the abdominal muscles (if they were tightened as part of the procedure). Patients usually resume driving in the second week and return to work in about 2 weeks. Light activity is encouraged, even after surgery, to help lessen the risk of blood clot formation. If hospitalized, blood thinners will likely be administered for this very purpose.
